People around the world are turning their eyes to the North for the world-conquering founders. No wonder why. Creandum stated in the Nordic Tech Exit Report from 2016 that the Nordics are currently producing the most billion-dollar companies per capita after Silicon Valley. Since 2005, 9 percent of all global billion dollar exits have come from Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland.

One of the main challenges facing Nordic startups looking to expand their operations overseas is to meet relevant investors and find decision makers. With the #NordicMade trip to Singapore, we wanted to leverage our personal network and organise networking opportunities and match-making between Nordic startups and local investors, potential partners, media contacts as well as possible customers and mentors.

The #NordicMade Singapore trip, organized by Maria 01, SUP46, Icelandic Startups, and Slush. Associated program, contributed in building closer links between the Nordic hubs and strengthen the cohesion between South East Asia and the Nordics through organizing a community meet-up and events in collaboration and in conjunction with Slush Singapore.

Since the timing of Slush Singapore is the weekend after the Formula 1 competition, the delegation will also have the exclusive opportunity to participate in Formula 1 activities organised with the South-East Asian partners and the Slush Singapore. The event will enabled the delegates to connect with high profile people, investors and executives attending Slush Singapore.

The Nordic delegation had 4 days of program, ranging from dinner with PwC, visits to co-working spaces, attending Slush Singapore and global gathering with Slush Singapore attendees.
