As the deep-tech revolution takes off, AI as a global movement has been invisible in the Nordic countries, with just 4% of Europe’s AI companies coming from the Nordics. This is the exact reason Nordic.AI has taken on the challenge of connecting Nordic tech pioneers with the global community.

Nordic.AI is an open and innovative lighthouse within the AI & ML community, with the purpose of promoting regional and international recognition of our ecosystem. We seek to unify and enable the region’s many talents, so they can meet, learn, and act in an ecosystem that isn’t fragmented and biased towards local interests, but fertilizes and cross-pollinates across cities and countries in the Nordics. The mission of gathering the AI ecosystem in one united vehicle to rival the big foreign technology companies, in the battle for talent, influence, and impact fuels Nordic.AI.

"The lineup was one of the most interesting I’ve seen at a startup conference, and it
shows how much great talent we have in the Nordics”
Bjarke Staun-Olsen, investment manager at Creandum

In Spring 2017, Nordic.AI gathered the AI ecosystem at a kickoff event on March 7th in Copenhagen. This event brought together a core of 150 elite AI & ML pioneers from the Nordics and a few of their international peers to connect and knowledge share.

Comprising of presentations, pitches and networking opportunities, the Nordic.AI festival featured 23 speakers in total, from a combination of established companies, AI startups, and research institutions. The festival also held an investor panel discussing the current state of AI investment, with a focus on the Nordic perspective. In addition, there was a startup showcase, that promoted promising startups from the region, and also offering them the opportunity to connect with relevant investors.
